The Feeling

I’m awake and I love it.

I worked harder than I have in a long time in the gym yesterday.

I worked on vocals for hours. Not because I had a show. But because I wanted to improve.

I love this euphoric feeling of waking up early in the morning, knowing and feeling that you have worked hard the day before. This energy you rise with knowing that you are currently improving. Currently becoming your best self, and having the feelings in your body that tell you so. I woke up with the gifts from yesterday’s work not only coursing through my body, but running through my mind. I feel more confident to sing because I DID THE WORK. I feel more confident to play basketball, BECAUSE I DID THE WORK.

Working on your craft is more than just the looks. It’s more than just the story you tell to those around you. It’s your daily gift of accomplishment that is solely for you. It is your daily blessing of knowledge that you are not only meant to be doing it, but you are meant to pursue your best self while doing it. I’ve watched in awe at my apparent growth in my crafts. Watching myself make 20 shots in a row. Watching myself hit notes that I once thought were fantasy.

Honestly, this is how I gave up watching tv.

When your life becomes aligned, and you know exactly what you want to do, it gets exciting. You don’t want to miss a moment. You start to find that the stories painted on the screen have nothing in comparison to the live action playing out in front of your eyes. The hero of your story is you. Once you know your path, all you want to do is watch as the hero conquers all.

But you must know your greatest villain…

Spoiler alert: THE HERO CAN NOT BE DEFEATED BY ANYTHING. THE HERO’s MIND IS SO POWERFUL THAT IT CREATES ALL OF THE HERO’s OBSTACLES. VILLAINS ONLY BECOME VILLAINS BECAUSE OF THE HERO’S PERCEPTION.

Damn! Sorry. I might have ruined your show!

But I will tell you with this knowledge, your hero will move and approach life with the greatest weakness/weapon existing in the story. The mind. If you understand that your mind is the only thing that can stop you, you basically understand the show. It tells you what you can and can’t do. What is and isn’t possible. On top of that, it even has different voices that you must learn to encounter that tells you crazy shit about yourself when you are close to winning or losing.

The voice is your thoughts, and it speaks loud when you win big and lose big. You must use your mind as the tool it is. When your down and your thoughts tell you to stay down, GET UP. When your winning and your thoughts tell you to show off and be irresponsible, TELL THEM TO SHUT UP. Be the best version of yourself. Be your hero. In all moments.

Like all shows on TV, your show is meant for the hero to win. It’s meant for you to understand the price of winning, BUT IN THE END, it’s meant for you to walk off in the sunset proud of who you are and what you have and can accomplish.

Good luck on your quest.
