The future you make

I am learning how to be fearless in my pursuit of my desires. Everyday seems to be a chess game played out in the higher realms of consciousness between my dreams and the challenges that attempt to stand in their way. There always seems to be moves in the game that challenge me in a way I have not encountered before. Moments in this chess game that challenge the game itself. When my dreams are in “check,” I look for any possible way to survive and ensure that the game continues. I look at every possible way to move my(self) and the resources around me to ensure the survival of my desires. I’ve noticed an extreme ease in this life to let go of your dreams at the first sign of adversity. People listen to the universe and follow the signs, and when something in the universe gives the smallest sign that one’s dream is not for them, they take it to heart and abandon the pursuit.

I recognize my role in my life to dictate my desires and their importance in my life. If I remove my energy and focus on them, they will remain thoughts and dreams rather than opportunities and reality.

I feel that I have been blessed to find my purpose in my life at such an early age. After making certain decisions and learning about my(self), I have learned the reason why I am here. I know I am supposed to play professional basketball, even after falling short once before. I know I am supposed to perform in front of a lot of people (on the court, and on stage) because nothing delivers a higher feeling of euphoria for me than speaking and sharing with a large group of people. I know I’m also supposed to help and aid in the advancement of life, which I learn on a daily basis is a responsibility for all humans on this Earth.

I believe for all people, the main reason they are here is to find their way. Find the vibration and lifestyle that they are truly meant to live. We do things for so many reasons outside of the pursuit of eternal and life long happiness. With respect to the notion that there is one chance to live this life in the body you inhabit, any moment spent on something that doesn’t add to your immediate or long term happiness can deviate you from your path. We all have a path that is made solely for us. A way to live and approach life that is made solely for the person we want to be. The only separation between your present self and the self you aspire to be is your decisions in this moment. If I want to be a great athlete, I have the choice of working out RIGHT NOW. If I want to be a great singer, I have the choice of doing vocal exercises RIGHT NOW. This existence will paint a picture of how powerless you are when it comes to pursuing your desires, but it is up to you to show the mental fortitude necessary to make your dreams a reality. That means doing the things YOU KNOW are necessary to become the person YOU KNOW deserves your dreams.

I sat for a long time, accepting a reality of my life that was dictated to me by others. I accepted the things my friends told me were true about my life. I accepted the things my family told me were true about my life. I never decided for my(self) the legend of my story. I never looked at my future and saw the incredible level of power I held in the present.

Your future is yours.

You can make it ANYTHING you want it to be.

But you have to be willing to make decisions directly toward what you would like your future to be.

I told my niece a powerful thing about the future. Your future is so malleable that in this moment, you can create parts of it. If I say I want French fries from Burger King at 12pm on the dot tomorrow, I can write that part of my future in stone with the energy and effort I put towards it. There is no reason why saying, “I want to play in the olympics this time next year” is any more out of your reach then the fries. The only difference is the level of effort. Sometimes you have to ask yourself, “Am I ready to put in the necessary effort to make my dreams a reality? Am I willing to push through any obstacle that comes my way to get to the destination I see in my mind?” If you can say yes, then your future is sealed.

Say yes to your dreams.

Say yes to the journey towards them.

Enjoy every step of this life, and enjoy the immense power that is your present moment.
